they made a facebook group about hating me!

Similar to the "Greg Ferris is a tool" group ... but unlike the Greg Ferris group, this Donna group is really me and not some teenager in New York or whatever.

They made a Facebook group about hating me! Well Lam did, and I know he's harboured resentment towards me ever since I stopped him defacing my textbooks with "Slut" and "Whore".

JOEL encourages him! And I know Joel's harboured resentment towards me ever since I ate more than my fair share of those nachos from the Loft. I was hungry, what can I say?

Anyway, I've got to keep those two AWAY from each other and stop this mass conspiracy against me.

I'm in planning mode, any thoughts about some sort of just revenge?

let's all go work on Japanese 'Home and Away'

Here's a reason not to vote the Liberals out of government: Tourism Minister Fran Bailey is proposing Japanese versions of Home and Away and Neighbours. Here's the full story (which I incidentally transcribed this morning!)

COULD YOU IMAGINE?! Wouldn't it be Home and Away on crack? How insane would it be? You'd need those Iron Chef voiceovers too.

Needless to say, I would LOVE to work on it, just for the sheer bizarreness of the idea. Sign me up!

Just went and ate dinner with Anna. Had beautiful, beautiful turkish delight from Rowda Ya-Habibi. It's like eating pink chewy clouds of bliss...

Talking with Anna banana, it just hit me how much I miss all my uni people, the MAP1 crew, I hardly have any classes with them, I don't see them... where are you?! what are you doing?! *cries* Drop me a line if you have the time.

Speaking of time, I have none. I just asked for time off work in Week 13. Uni is such a bitch at the moment .... grrr, why?! why do I have to all these assignments, two jobs and all this other stuff and no TIME. I need a hug.

morning of craziness

Probably isn't all that crazy ... but it's late in semester and I'm socially deprived. So there!

Get into work at 8AM, get three missed calls on my mobile at 8:10AM from the surgery where my mum was getting her cataract surgery done. The surgery was supposed to call Dad to pick her up. They couldn't reach him ... the phone rang out at home, and then every time they tried to call after that, the home phone was engaged. So, they tried calling me, but I couldn't reach him either, so mum went home in a taxi!

You can imagine the ear bashing Dad got when Mum got home... turns out he didn't get to the phone in time, picked it up too late, and then didn't put the receiver back properly. All the time, I'm freaking out at work, trying to call home every so often, and wondering if I should leave work.

Mum is fine though, surgery was probably less than 10 minutes, and she's got this 'eye shield' thing on now, no pirate patch.

Meanwhile, someone from Lateline calls at 8:30AM, wanting a particular transcript. After much confusion trying to find the thing, discovering that I can't find the RECYCLE BIN on one of the computers in work (I swear it doesn't exist or is very cleverly hidden!), sending the wrong script off, we finally find the silly thing on another computer ... grr.

And then I had to return a camera to the UTS store at 9:15AM, a PD170 in those huge boxes whch I lugged all the way from Central. When I get to UTS, there's this huge crowd outside the building and it turns out our building has been FLOODED.

Apparently some air-conditioning pipe carked it on levels 4 & 5 ... not surprised on level 5, we've got this lecture theatre we've nicknamed 'The Freezer' because of how cold it is, and no one knows how to turn it off!

Building flooded? Time to go home! I did actually go home and do uni work, so there.

Also, a group of bogans were yelling at each other behind me as I walked down Central tunnel. Central tunnel just amplifies everything as well, so that was fun.

attack of the vegetables

Mum recently went to the doctor, had a blood test done and it turns out that her cholesterol is quite high. So, our family doctor said if she still hadn't lowered her cholesterol the next time she went in, she'd have to be put on medication. My mum's put her foot down, and has been swearing up and down that she will NOT take the medication.

So in my house, we're officially cutting back on the red meat, salt and seasonings, eggs and upping the ante on beans, vegies, and fruits. ARGH! We've been substituting poultry and fish for red meat, which is ok, fish is good. But I know also what this means - no more red wine steaks at home with rosemary, no more crumbed pork chops with creamy mashed potato, no more tacos or burgers!

AND NO MORE SCRAMBLED EGGS AND BACON AND HASH BROWNS! If any one of you have been to brunch with me, you know how I looove my scrambled eggs and bacon and hash browns.

Hmmm...I predict a tofu future, which is ok - we're Asian, we can handle that sort of thing. If things get desperate, a trip to Vabys might be in order.
